Yes it can but it may discolor or streak the bottom paint or if the paint is unstable, it may remove it. Feedback that we have been getting from our customers is that the discoloration is minimal and often the color will revert back in a short time. In many cases there is no discoloration or streaking at all. Keep in mind that if you have growth on the bottom paint, it is probably exhausted and needs to be replaced, otherwise you would not have growth in the first place. Also, often times there are adhesion problems with bottom paints on inflatable tubes and if this is the case some of the bottom paint may be removed. As with all cleaners, you should do a test with in a small inconspicuous place first to make sure you are getting the results yo expect.
Inflatable Bottom Spray was formulated especially for inflatable boats. It is as strong as you should use to remove bottom growth, without damaging the fabric that the boat is made from.
The product is Repelin. Be sure to clean and prep the surface with Speed Clean and Poly Guard to protect your tubes and allow for patchability in the event of a puncture.
It works better in the north, where the water is not so warm and the growth so vicious. You will get a full season from two coats. In the Florida area, the bottom will start to slime up after about 3 to 4 weeks. Two coats should last 3 to 6 months if you keep it clean. If you leave it more than that, without wiping off the slime, you will start to get algae and barnacles attaching to the slime, but they are much easier to remove than if you do not protect your bottom.

DIRECTIONS: Shake well before using. Spray INFLATABLE BOTTOM SPRAY® onto algae, mussels & barnacles. Allow chemical to work for 20-30 minutes. Agitate with brush and rinse clean. Repeat as necessary. Oxidation, chalking, scuffmarks, rust grime, oil, bird droppings, insect marks and most other stains can be removed with SPEED CLEAN®. When clean and dry, protect hypalon and PVC with POLY GUARD® & fiberglass with VS721 BOTTOM COAT® or PREMIUM BOAT SHINE®.
